Treasure Found

Two months ago I shared about my intention for experiencing my hysterectomy and the renewal afterwards.  (Read the full post here.)  Here is an excerpt.

This is a  journey and a journey always brings change.  I want to be fully present to the journey (pleasant and not so pleasant) and open to the changes it brings.

Next time you are tempted to go around an experience, consider going through it with self connection and self care.  You never know what you will treasures you will find.

Now my journey is ending, and I am collecting the treasure that I found.

One my biggest joys of this time was the freedom I felt to do things that never get done.  In giving myself permission to rest and cut back on doing the day-to-day nitty gritty, I opened up to fun things that I’d been wanting to do.  I crocheted Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle hats for my grandkids.  Fun!  I colored mandalas using a technique from this video.  Expansive!  And I learned about Pinterest and started boards for the Creative Life Center.  Still smilling!

The treasure for me to bring forward is to give myself freedom to do fun things in a good balance with doing day-to-day nitty gritty.  It’s easy to say that and harder to do because the nitty gritty is never ending!

Just talking about changing isn’t enough for me to make it happen.  I came up with a physical way to remember to add this treasure into my days.  WOW lists.  These are lists for all those wonderful things that:

Would be fun…
One day.
